Douglas “Doug” J. Ciampa of Big Bend died suddenly on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 following a brain aneurysm at the age of 54. He was born in Waukesha on November 1, 1964 the son of Ralph and Rachel (nee Wilson) Ciampa. He was a 1983 graduate of Waukesha South High School. Doug began working at Jimmy’s Grotto at the age of 18 before becoming the proud owner in 2003. He was an owner, dedicated to his staff and passionate about customer service. Doug was happy to have Jimmy’s Grotto sponsor many local sports teams. Outside of work, Doug had many interests and lived life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking and trap shooting at Boxhorn. Doug enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, being a member of Richy’s D.S. pool league in Big Bend and was involved with Shaolin Kung Fu. He had a love for motorcycles and guns and was a member of the H.O.G. New Berlin Chapter and the NRA. Most of all, Doug had a huge heart and loved his family, friends and the community. He will always be remembered for his zest for life and always having a smile on his face.

He will be sadly missed by his wife and life-long partner, Holly (nee Orlopp) Ciampa of Big Bend, his mother Rachel (the late John) Houk of New Berlin, his children, Alissa Ciampa of Tomahawk, Jason (fiancée Julie Meyer) Renner of Waukesha and Kelly (Jackie Heinrichs, and her children J.C. and Julie) Renner, his grandchildren, Justin, AJ, Jackson, Brianna and Haven Renner, Angelus Lovelace, Cassondra (Michael) Oppermann and Dakota Thomas and their father Michael Thomas and Wyatt and Jonah Thies and their father Amos Thies, two great-grandchildren, Landon and Christina Oppermann, brothers Dan Ciampa of New Berlin and Darren Ciampa of Green Bay and nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Thomas, Dakota and Brittany Ciampa. He is further survived by his lifelong best friend, Richard Werning, mentor and father figure Dick (Roberta) Werning, cousins, other relatives and numerous friends. Preceded in death by his daughter Christina Renner-Thies and father Ralph Ciampa.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday July 7, 2019 at the Elks Lodge 2301 Springdale Road Waukesha. The family requests in honor of Doug, please dress casually. Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery.
