Douglas Smith

Douglas R. "Doug" Smith, of Oconomowoc, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at his home at the age of 69. He was born on January 21, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Elmer and Jeanette (nee: Bence) Smith. He was united in marriage to Janet Kraft on August 10, 1957. He served in the Air National Guard, and was employed at Wisconsin Electric. After retirement, he drove school busses for Oconomowoc and Dousman Transport. Doug took great pride in caring for his lawn, and for enjoyment he attended many Packer games over the years. Doug will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Janet of Oconomowoc; his daughter, Jodi Smith (Chuck Solveson) of Oconomowoc; nephew, Scott Smith of East Troy; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. He is also survived by a dear family friend, Susie (Carl) Lider of Oconomowoc; and his special canine friend, Piper. He is preceded in death by his 2 sisters: Susan Cooper and Jean Smith; and his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2007 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 145 Lisbon Rd., Oconomowoc.
