Of Waukesha, died peacefully on March 28, 2008 with his wife at his side. An ever-voracious reader, he also relished the arts, symphony, operas, and theater. He also had a passion for flying aircrafts. Always the consummate humorist and positive-minded human being, he loved the fine qualities of life. His spirit of adventure and quest for educational excellence continues on in his nieces and nephews and family. He served his country active duty in France and Germany as an expert rifleman during World War II with a Bronze Star. He was a graduate of the University of Chicago and the Chicago College of Optometry. Leaving behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Joe are his wife, Skip; brother, Ed Bork; nephew, Dr. Tom Furmanski; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Private services will be held.
