Dr. Darrell Macy Martin, age 85 of Pewaukee, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 21, 1922 in Cicero, IL, the son of Darrell Macy and Edith (Strom) Martin. He married Virginia Wilkin on November 26, 1944 at Shorewood Presbyterian Church in Shorewood, WI. Darrell proudly served in the U.S. Navy as Lieutenant Junior Grade from 1944 until 1946. After obtaining his Masters Degree and PHD from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, he later was employed as a chemical engineer for Envirex in Waukesha for many years until retirement. Darrell was an active member at Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church in Stonebank, where he was an elder for 15 years. He was a supporter of the Pewaukee Public Library where he enjoyed spending time. Having a love for the outdoors, he especially enjoyed tending to his own tree farm and garden. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Wilkin Martin of Pewaukee; three children: Rev. Mark (Carol) Martin of Iowa City, Iowa, Deacon Todd (Colleen) Martin of Madison, WI, and Mary (Jeff) Bublitz of Pewaukee; six grandchildren: Scott (Lisa) Martin of Puyallup, Washington, Rob (Barbara) Martin of Seattle, Washington, Katie Martin of Tacoma, Washington, Maureen Ann Martin of Madison, WI, Matthew Bublitz (fiancée Mandy) of West Bend, WI and Meghan (Jeremy) Breidenbach of Sussex; and 2 great-grandchildren: Lindsay Martin and Joshua Martin. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 2:00 PM until the funeral service at 4:00 PM at Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church, N66 W32690 Hwy K, Hartland. Fellowship to follow.
