Duane Buchholz

August 16, 1933 — October 20, 2008

WAUKESHA—Duane A. Buchholz was born to Eternal Life on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.  He was born on August 16, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the only child of Harold A. and Adeline (nee:  Schroeder) Buchholz.   He graduated in 1951 from Don Bosco High School.  He had worked for the Louis Allis Company from the mid 1950’s until his retirement in 1988 and continued on to work for them as a consultant.  He had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 35 years and for the past 5 years was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.  An avid sportsman, Duane enjoyed his times duck hunting in Canada with the boys, trapshooting and golfing.  He was on the All State Trapshooting team in 1962, 1967, 1970 and 1971.  He became the Wisconsin State 16-yard Trapshooting Champion in 1962 and again in 1971 and State Doubles Champion in 1971.  He was a three term Director of The Wisconsin Trapshooting Association.  Duane was proudly inducted into the Wisconsin Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1992.  He coordinated the Sentinel Shotgun Clinic for many years at the Waukesha Gun Club. He lived 75 wonderful years and will be sorrowfully missed by all.  He was a true beacon of light in this world. Devoted husband of Esther (nee:  Maring), of Waukesha, whom he married on January 28, 1961.  Very loving father of daughters Linda (Timothy) Jason of Waukesha and Lisa (Edward Scott) Ver Halen of Delafield and the best grandpa in the entire world to Nicholette, Jamie, Danielle and Eric.  He is further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24 from 4:00 pm until the 7:00 pm Memorial Service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. Father James Loehr will preside. Memorials in Duane’s name are appreciated to the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, P.O.
