Edeltraut S. “Edye” Zeilhofer of Waukesha, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on July 21, 1928 in Roettebor, Germany, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Brown) Steinhoff. Edye was united in marriage to John Zeilhofer on October 11, 1952; he preceded her in death on July 27, 2007. In her earlier years, she was a highly noted field hockey player in southern Germany. After coming to the U.S., she became a real estate broker at Rite Reality Company until retiring in 1975. During her retirement, she and her husband resided in Sarasota, Florida for 14 years before returning to Waukesha. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Edye will be deeply missed by her children: Rudy (JoAnn) Zeilhofer of Waukesha and Jerry (Linda) Zeilhofer of Fountain Hills, Arizona; grandchildren: Matt, Robb, Luke, Chrissy, and Paul; her sister, Rosel (Willi) Schiebel of Freising, Germany; and sister-in-law, Katja Steinhoff of Münich, Germany. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Siegfried Steinhoff and her parents. Visitation will be held at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha WI on Monday February 22, 2010 from 4:30 PM until the 5:30 PM memorial service. After the service visiting will continue until 7:00 PM.
