Edward C. “Ed” Schmuki, lifelong Waukesha resident, died on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 89. He was born in Waukesha on August 28, 1921. He proudly served in the US Army with the 150th Ordnance during World War II. Ed helped run and manage Schmuki Meat Market and also was a mechanic working for Davies Brothers Garage and was a car salesman at Kuettner Oldsmobile. He also owned a Citgo gas station on Grand Avenue in Waukesha. He will be deeply missed by his daughter: Elizabeth “Betsy” (Wilbur) Miller of Morrison, CO, his grandchildren: Brian William Miller of Morrison, CO and Andrea Stacie (Jesse) Gnojek of Littleton, CO and two great-grandchildren: Alexah and Austin. He is further survived by his sisters: Caroline (George) Stigler and Ann (Don) Brook, brothers-in-law Harold Brown, Lee Rice, Ken Rice; sisters-in-law June Schmuki, Joyce Leberman along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Lee (nee Rice) Schmuki, brothers and sisters: Margaret Bacon, Ernest Schmuki, Richard Schmuki, Claude (Virginia) Schmuki, Harold (Mary) Schmuki, Evelyn (Bob) Richards, Eleanor Brown, William Schmuki, and his parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 4:00 until 7:00PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. Services continue on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the funeral home where a funeral service will be held at 11:00AM. Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
