My sweetheart, lifelong companion, dearest friend, lover, wife and mother of our seven children, Elaine Dake, passed away peacefully at AngelsGrace Hospice on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the age of 88 following a long illness. She was born in Milwaukee on August 9, 1928 the daughter of Walter and Agnes (nee Wilkowski) Sprague. On November 2, 1946, she married her beloved husband Leon and recently they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Elaine was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She had a great love for flowers, was a gourmet cook, enjoyed doing crafts and collecting dolls. Above all, her family was her life and she will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.
She is loved and will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Leon of Waukesha and their seven children, Kathleen (Ken) Schultz of Houston, TX, Jonathan (Annette) Dake of Menomonee Falls, Sandra (the late William) Pirc of Milwaukee, Michael (Debbie) Dake of Waukesha, Pamela (Al) Perry of Roy, UT, Lawrence (Jane) Dake of Pewaukee and Marla (Tim) Allen of Janesville. She was the proud grandmother of her 20 grandchildren, Dawn (Kenny) White, Tracy Moody, Lee (Leah) Dake, Andrew (Maria) Dake, Philip (Candace) Dake, Joseph, Daniel, Timothy and Jeremy Pirc, Christopher Farr, Karry Hassemer, Kendra Pierce, Steven and Michael Perry, David (Kim) Perry, Staci (Stephanie Williams) Perry, Anthony (fiancée Jaymi Watson) Dake, Matthew Dake, and Zachary and Bradley Allen, 21 great-grandchildren Casey (Brittney) Rodgers, Krista (Daniel) Ferreya, Kenny White, Kylie and Maddie Dake, Isabella, Laila, Sofia, Toro Dake, Philip Joel "PJ" Dake, Alana Kudick, Timothy "TJ", Mary, Dawyne Pirc, Angel (Brandon) Stanley, Destiny and Chevy Hassemer, Audrey (Matt) Marshall, Isaac Pierce, Yoshio, Yutaka and Keiuki Ryujin and great-great-grandchildren, Elena and Emilya Ferreya, August Rodgers, Zaya and Athena (due July 2017), Auri and future baby (due November 2017) Marshall. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Walter Sprague.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the 12:00 noon funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Father Howard Haase will preside. Private interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
