Milwaukee -Born to eternal life Jan. 5, 2021 at age 70. Born in Sri Lanka on Aug. 3, 1950, beloved daughter of the late Ossie and Helena Fernando. Sister of Anthony Fernando of Canada and Lalani Gunewardena of Sri Lanka; sister-in-law of Ashley Gunewardena and Malani Fernando; aunt of Shane Gunewardena and Sharon Siriwardana (USA) and Christopher and Madhshani Fernando (Canada),cousin-in-law of Viraj Siriwardana (USA), Rochelle Herft and grand aunt of Mario, Marlon and Mark Gunewardena and Vian and Sara Siriwardena. Further survived by many dear friends in the Milwaukee area. Elaine was passionate about music. She enjoyed playing the violin, piano and guitar and was a longtime public and private music teacher working for Holy Family Convent and Wycherly International School both in Colombo, Sri Lanka and Milwaukee Public Schools in Milwaukee, WI USA. She served as a Catholic Lay Salvatorian. Visitation at Mother of Good Counsel Parish, 6924 W. Lisbon Ave., Milwaukee on Sat., Jan 9th 10:00 until the 11:30AM Mass of Christian Burial. Burial Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials appreciated to a special needs organization of your choice.
