Eleanor L. King, of the town of Brookfield, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at her residence at the age of 90. She was born on July 2, 1928, in Gridley, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (nee Winger) Rinkenberger. Eleanor was a God-fearing woman who fought to rise above any obstacle she encountered. She raced stock cars in her younger years and was a member of a country western band. She was a woman of the earth, planting vegetables, flower gardens and she planted every tree on her property. Some referred to her property as Eden.
She will be sadly missed by her children Jerald (Diane) King, Joan Farquharson and John King. Loving grandmother of Christiana, Christopher, Christalyn, Christine, Christella, Steven, Sara and Molly. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, her sister Verna Harsh, brothers Raymond (Cleda) Rinkenberger and David Rinkenberger, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. in Waukesha. Graveside services will follow at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery.
