Elise Charlene Kubiak (nee Pittenger), of Waukesha, lost her battle with cancer and went to rest in the gentle arms of Jesus on Monday, December 1, 2014. She was born on March 12, 1948 to Charles and Marguerite (nee Hess) Pittenger. She is survived by her spouse of over 50 years, Robert James Kubiak of Waukesha, Wis. Also survived by son Charles (Karen) Kubiak and daughter Laura (John) Burke, as well as grandchildren Colleen and Connor Kubiak. Her family was the love of her life.
Elise was an active volunteer with Red Cross, Waukesha Master Gardeners, Waukesha County Food Pantry and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She was a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, an active birdwatcher and member of the Benjamin Goss Waukesha Bird Club and St. Mary Catholic Church. Prior to retirement she was a real estate broker and travel agent, and had a love for traveling around the world.
Elise grew up in Onalaska, Wis., attending Onalaska High School. Dear sister of Gaylynn Moore and Peg Mierzwa.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 9:00 until 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S Hartwell Ave. in Waukesha, followed by Mass at 11:00 am. Father Howard Haase will preside. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the American Cancer Society in her name.
