Elizabeth L. Brenckle of Waukesha, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at LindenGrove at the age of 98. She was born in Milwaukee on June 22, 1911 the daughter of Ira S. and Louise E. (nee Walker) Lorenz. Elizabeth grew up in Milwaukee and graduated with a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On June 12, 1937 she married William S. She spent every summer of her life at her cottage on Elmwood Island in Fox Lake, WI. The well being of the environment, living plants, and all of nature was always a concern for her. Since she moved to Waukesha, nearly 50 years ago, she was an active member of the Spring City Garden Club. Through the Club she worked with children and adults teaching and sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for gardening and community beautification with natural surroundings. Her message was always the same, if you are informed and respect nature, your rewards will be many. Her many gifts as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and citizen will always be remembered. Through her life Elizabeth touched many lives and she will be dearly missed. May her gracious example remain with us all Elizabeth was the dear mother of Robert L. (Petrea) Brenckle of Waukesha, Helen B. (James) Curley of New Berlin and Geraldine B.
