Elizabeth A. Homar

January 25, 1976 — January 16, 2023

Elizabeth A. Homar of Waukesha passed away suddenly of natural causes on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the age of 46. She was born in Oscoda, Michigan on January 25, 1976 the daughter of Kathy (nee Wilburn) Bohacheff. Elizabeth graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans and earned her MBA from Marquette. She worked as the comptroller at HUSCO for twenty years.

Elizabeth always dreamed of being an author, and worked hard to achieve those dreams and in her free time over the last several years has published over a dozen novels under a pseudonym. She was rightfully proud of this, but her family thinks she ought to have been even more proud. In nice weather she enjoyed walks with her family both around their neighborhood and at nearby Retzer Nature Center. On quiet nights or if the weather was cold, she would snuggle in the family den with her family and they would play games together.

She will be sadly and forever missed by her loving husband, Peter Homar of Waukesha and their beloved and cherished daughters, Miranda (11) and Sabrina (8); her treasured mother Kathy Bohacheff; dear sister, Emily (Adam) Beach; her grandmother Emma Wilburn, her father and mother-in-law Jeffrey and Barbara Homar; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven (Katrina) Homar, Kathryn (Joseph) Kaufman and Timothy (Katie) Homar. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A time to gather and celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. There will be no formal service, rather Elizabeth’s family will hold a private ceremony following the visitation.

We are grateful to all to wish to honor Elizabeth’s memory. There are many ways to do so. On her behalf, her family suggests the following:

*One cause dear to Elizabeth was, of course, her children. Any cash or check donation to her family will be put into EdVest Accounts for Miranda (11) and Sabrina (8) to help them have a better future. Checks payable to Peter Homar can either be mailed to: Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home c/o Elizabeth Homar Family, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 or there will be a card box available at the visitation.

Elizabeth was an organ donor, and we’ve been told that her corneas have already given the gift of restored sight to 2 recipients. It has been estimated that, in the end, it is likely that between 50 and 60 recipients will benefit from her generous Gift of Life: from skin grafts for burn victims to lives saved from transplanted heart-valve tissue. We encourage considering becoming an organ donor yourself, or consider a philanthropic donation to “Versiti Organ and Tissue” to support their efforts.
