Elizabeth Kuemmel

Elizabeth Kuemmel, of Brookfield, died on Friday, December 19, 2014 at LindenGrove in Waukesha at the age of 94. She was born in Milwaukee on January 30, 1920 the daughter of Ovid and Alvina (nee Gadoury) Beaudoin. She was a 1938 graduate of Messmer High School where she met her husband Kenneth Kuemmel. They were married on January 2, 1943 and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1991. Elizabeth received her bachelor’s degree in education from Mount Mary College. She taught 5th grade at Jefferson Elementary School in Wauwatosa for many years. Elizabeth was part of the founding families of St. John Vianney Catholic Parish in Brookfield and then became a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Brookfield.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Daniel (Rosanne) Kuemmel of Racine, Ted (Mary) Kuemmel of Waukesha, Thomas Kuemmel of Waukesha and Mary (Dennis) Petrie of Brookfield and daughter-in-law Shari Kuemmel of Madison. She was the dear grandmother of Daniel, Michael and Kevin Kuemmel, Amy Connelly, Anne Winkler, Ken, Matthew and Angela Kuemmel, Rebecca Perry, Katie Powell and Tim, Steve, Rob and Laura Petrie and great-grandmother of Claire, Charlie, Lexi, Fitz, Daniel, Andrew, Julia, Alex, Emily, Katie, Anthony, James, Joey and Charlotte. She is further survived by her sisters, Juanita (the late Don) Kuemmel and Marge (the late Ray) Axt, her brother-in-law David (Marie) Kuemmel along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her son Joseph (Shari).

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 2:00PM until the time of the 5:00PM funeral Mass at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280 N2101 Prospect Avenue (Hwy SS), Pewaukee, WI 53072. Father Tony Zimmer will preside. Private burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Memorials are appreciated to Catholic Memorial High School, 601 E.
