Ellie Jo Manke Abts

Ellie Jo Manke Abts of Waukesha passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at age 47.  She was born in Oconomowoc on February 18, 1976, the daughter of Richard and Christine (nee: Hopkins) Manke. Ellie was a 1994 graduate of Hartland Arrowhead High School, then continued her education earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alverno College.  On September 4, 1999, she married her beloved husband, Brant at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waukesha. Ellie worked as the director of MDS at Ovation Communities in Milwaukee. She was an active and devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  Ellie was a loving wife, and mother, whose great joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 24 years, Brant of Waukesha and their daughters Katherine and Grace Abts, her siblings Michael (Shari) Manke of Montello WI, Heidi (the late Jack) Teuteberg of Oconomowoc, Holly (the late Willie) Teuteberg of Sullivan, Hope (Marshall) Gronewold of Waukesha, and Heather (Mark) Sobczak of Oconomowoc.  She is also survived by her parents Richard (Donna) Manke of Brookfield, and Christine (Gregg Brzeski) Hopkins of Oconomowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the Nurses Memorial Service at 11:45 AM, then the   funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m at St. Mary Catholic Church 225 S. Hartwell Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186.  Following the Mass, a luncheon will take place in the church community room.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be used for Katherine and Grace’s education.
