Elvira F. Kopshinsky (nee Stapleton) of Waukesha passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Linden Grove in Waukesha at the age of 89. She was born in North Lake, WI on October 9, 1926 the daughter of Francis (Speeder) and Theresa (nee Kilps) Stapleton. She was united in marriage to Oscar Kopshinsky on July 15, 1950; he preceded her in death on September 14, 2013. She was a longtime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.
She will be sadly missed by her children David Kopshinsky of California, Thomas (Donna) Kopshinsky of Mukwonago, Patricia (Amos) Hartley of Waukesha, Frederick (Lisa) Kopshinsky of Waukesha and Linda (Steven) Ruthenberg of Waukesha. She was the proud grandmother of Clint (Danielle) Kopshinsky, Vaughn Thunder, Loni LaChance, Michael (Kristin) Kopshinsky, Sonia Hartley and Hannah Ruthenberg and her great-grandchildren, Riana Thunder, Gunnar, Olivia, Layla and Amelia LaChance, Angela Kopshinsky and Sydney Kopshinsky. She is further survived by her sisters Joanne Webb of Colorado, Geraldine Drews of Mukwonago and Charlotte Spengler of Stoughton, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ken Fuller, Connie Kopshinksy, Ted (Judy) Kopshinsky, Shirley Kopshinsky and Marie Stapleton along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Roger and Walter and sisters Katherine, Lucille, Margareth and Beverly.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 9:30AM until the time of the 11:00AM funeral service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend Lawrence Gates will preside. Graveside services will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
