Elvira Mendez

Elvira Mendez of Waukesha passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 90. She was born in Mexico on August 21, 1927 to Enrique and Salvadora (nee Gomez) Lopez. She married Severo G. Mendez in 1947 and together they had 11 children. One of Elvira’s greatest joys in life was dancing with her husband.

She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 70 years, Severo G. Mendez and their children: John Mendez, Gloria Birkholz, Esther (Ken) Crupi, Victor Mendez, Linda (Benjamin) Ramirez, Rosalinda (the late Dave) Dunton, Ruth Mendez and Hector (Ginny) Mendez along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Hector; her son, Severo Mendez, Jr; and daughter, Elvira Yocum.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to ManorCare and Heartland Hospice for their kindness and excellent care provided to Elvira and their family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
