Elvira Yocum a lifelong resident of Waukesha passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 65. She was born in Waukesha on April 28, 1952 the daughter of Severo G. and Elvira (nee Lopez) Mendez. She was a graduate of Waukesha High School. Elvira’s greatest joy was her family who she loved and cherished deeply. She touched many people’s lives through her encouraging and inspiring spirit. She loved to go shopping, play bingo, watch movies and especially loved her dog, Baby Bear.
She will be sadly missed by her parents, Severo G. and Elvira Mendez, her two children, Juanita Rivera and Jorge (Jessica) Rivera, Jr., her precious 4-legged companion Baby Bear, her grandchildren, Jorge, Iliana, Christian, Austin, Michelle, Antonio, Izabella, Max and Jaxon. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, John Mendez, Gloria Birkholz, Esther (Ken) Crupi, Victor Mendez, Linda (Benjamin) Ramirez, Rosalinda (the late David) Dunton, Ruth Mendez and Hector (Ginny) Mendez along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Yocum and her brothers, Severo Mendez Jr. and Hector Mendez.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Care-Age of Brookfield for their kindness and excellent care provided to Elvira “BD” and their family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. memorial service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.
