Emanuele “Vito” Vitale passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his family on Saturday August 3rd, 2019, at age 84.
Vito is survived by his loving wife Carrie and children: Brian (Sabina), Bruce (Joan), Brendt (Debbie) and grandchildren: Stephanie, Matthew, Mitchel, and James. He is further survived by his wife’s sisters: Gail (Richard), Jeannie (Larry), Mary (Victor), Tammy, and brother Richard (Susie); and the mother of his children Roberta Bickle, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Vito spent most of his life in Waukesha, graduating all-American in both football and diving. He worked as an engineering draftsman, and sold real estate part time. He served as an Alderman on Waukesha’s common council for 21 years. Vito was an exceptional athlete and won a state weightlifting championship simultaneously with his son Brendt. He was probably best known for his time spent as an All-Star Wrestler, a side career he began at the age of 40.
