Eric G. Hansen, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 68. He was born on December 23, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Harold and Martha (Williams) Hansen. Eric was united in marriage to Margaret Walker on September 11, 1965. He attended the College of Mines in Rolla, Missouri where he studied mechanical engineering. He was a retiree from Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee, and received several patents for things he created over the years. With a love for woodworking, Eric made many special items for their home, his children and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and bowler, a bridge enthusiast, and a daily player of sheepshead. But most importantly, Eric will be fondly remembered as an awesome grandpa, adored dad, and loving husband. Eric will be deeply missed by his wife of almost 44 years, Margaret of Waukesha; their four children: Colleen Hansen (Mark Prindes) of Sturtevant, WI, Kirstin (Will) Dolwick of Lake Mills, WI, Mark (Jennifer) Hansen of Waukesha, and Erika Hansen of Waukesha; five grandchildren: Brennan, Kailey, Griffin, Colin, and Marisa; and three brothers: Alan (Florence) Hansen of Virginia, Carl (Ilene) Hansen of Pennsylvania, and David (Lynn) Hansen of Wausau. He is also survived by his foreign exchange son, Sergio Utrilla Rodas and family. Eric was also a brother-in-law to Barbara (Bill) Keyes, Phillip (Daphne) Walker, Rose (the late Cliff) Wiberg, and Jeannine (Bill) McKeown. He is further survived by special cousins, Colleen and Larry Evans, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Eric’s nephew, Rev. Patrick Keyes CSSR will preside.
