Erica Mary Allee

Erica Mary Allee, 31, of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully with her mother by her side on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Froedtert Hospital.  She was born on March 13, 1992 to Howard and Mary (Nee: Bauer) Allee. Erica had a zest for life, and loved all things Disney, chocolate cake, swimming, watching parades, going to Wisconsin State Fair and the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson.  She was excited to celebrate holidays with family and friends, Halloween, Christmas and 4^th of July were among her favorites. Erica was a very caring soul and she showed this through her final act of kindness by becoming an organ donor.

She is loved and will be sadly missed by her loving parents Howard and Mary Allee, her sisters Kelsey (Josh) Koldeway  Christa Williams and Lee Allee brother John (Sage Smith) Allee.  She is further survived by her maternal grandparents Frank and Marian Bauer and paternal grandparents Janet (Harley Laflin) Allee. Erica the proud aunt to Riley and Henry Koldway; Nathan, Ethan, Emma and Anna Williams; Sophia and Jaxon Allee and Rae and Axel Schmitt. Many aunts and uncles also survive.

The Allee family would like to thank all the therapists and caregivers who helped Erica through the years, especially Jackie Dorshorst at RPM for working with Erica, teaching her to communicate and for giving us the gift of “hearing her voice.” We were fortunate enough through these conversations to know what her final wishes were.  She indicated she would like a green burial, and we found a place to fulfill her wishes.

To all the wonderful staff and doctors at Froedtert Hospital who cared for Erica in the last two weeks, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, especially her nurses Jonae, Melissa, Bre and Carl, you are all angels on earth.

Thank you Sharon, Gina, Laura, Heather and Xochitl for staying with Erica while at the hospital when her family could not be there. You gave us great comfort in knowing that Erica was not alone.  The family would like to also thank all the family and friends that reached out, made a phone call, prayed, sent meals and supported us in so many ways. It is so appreciated.   

A graveside committal service will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 1:30 PM. Please meet at the cemetery office at 1:15 PM and dress for the weather, as the service will take place outside.  Please join us for a celebration of life on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Edward's Building, 204 W. Main St. Rochester, WI.
