Ernestine H. Schultz, 91, of Waukesha, died on March 9, 2024, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was born January 23, 1933, in Mukwonago the daughter of Matthew and Marie (nee: Lueck) Deneen. She was a 1951 graduate of Mukwonago High School. On September 14, 1954, she married Elwyn Orlin Schultz at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Mukwonago. The couple resided in Waukesha where she was employed as accounts payable clerk at Waukesha Engine. She worked until the age of 77. She was a 50 year member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, and she enjoyed 25 years as a Sunday school teacher for first and second graders. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul in Waukesha. Erna loved everything Wisconsin sports, following the Badgers, Brewers, Bucks, and Packers with great interest. She was also an accomplished gardener growing beautiful flowers and vegetables at her home.
She was the beloved wife of Elwyn Orlin Schultz, who proceeded her in death November 27, 1998, and the loving mother of David G. Schultz of Waukesha, Laura L. (Raymond) Hosterman of Papillion, Nebraska, and Kathleen M. (Erik) Gulbrandsen of Eagle. She is also survived by her granddaughters Montanna (Meaghan) Hosterman, Samantha Hosterman, Brooklyn Hosterman, and Kennedy Hosterman, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husband Elwyn she was preceded in death by her brother Matthew Frank Deneen and her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Geif.
Visitation will be Friday March 15, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Randle Dable Brisk Funeral Home 1110 S. Grand Avenue Waukesha, WI 53186. Visitation continues Saturday March 16, 2024, from 10:00 am until the funeral service begins at 11:00 am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 300 Carroll St. Waukesha, WI 53186. Rev. Dr. Lindsay Jordan will preside. Graveside services will follow the procession to Prairie Home Cemetery.
