Ernestine Wegner of Waukesha, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at her home at the age of 103. She was born in Waukesha on Feb. 9, 1914 the daughter of Benjamin and Martha (nee Albrecht) Torrison. She was a charter member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. On June 26, 1936 she married William Wegner. Along with her husband Bill, she was the owner of Sunset Shopping Center in Waukesha for many years. She enjoyed golfing and, when she was young, playing tennis. She loved the Milwaukee Brewers and rarely missed a game.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Patricia (Larry) Nichol of Dousman and Rhonda (James) Hartwig of Janesville, her grandchildren, Kassie (Carl) Carver of Waukesha, Greg (Amy) Hartwig of Mequon and Jeff Hartwig of Chicago and great-grandchildren, Breanna Nwadike, Kyle Carver, Gabi Hartwig and Olivia Hartwig. She is further survived by her brother Benjamin (Nina) Torrison of Bradenton, FL along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1999, granddaughter Krista Hartig, and sisters, Sigrid (Arthur) Abbott and Gladys (Clyde) Brisk.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the 12:00 noon funeral service at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186. Pastor Kathy Boadwine will preside. Entombment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
