Ervin Frank Oman was born to eternal life on December 15, 2019 at 96, a week shy of his 97th birthday. He was a loving husband to his late wife Rose for 68 years. He was preceded in death by three sisters and his six brothers.
The devoted father of James (Vicki), Linda (Rey) and Ronald (Denise). His song styling, storytelling and sweet tooth will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren: Jeff, Robert, Brittany (Michael), Briana (Jon), Alex (Havalyn) and Elise, and his six great grandchildren—Ashleigh, Avery, Esperanza, Sydney, Alec and Brynne. Dear brother of Alice Ziolkowski and further survived by nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
He was a lifelong lover of learning and was a teacher in Waukesha county and the Elmbrook school district for over 30 years. He collected many binders of information especially about health topics and would love to share this wealth with any willing audience.
In retirement his song took flight, and he joined the Bella Vista Men’s Chorus in Arkansas for many years and later the Ambassadors of Harmony in Brookfield. Music was his favorite form of communication and he could often be found listening to or singing his repertoire of old favorites.
Sincerest thanks to his many care givers at Heritage Senior Living Elm Grove and to his hospice angels at AceraCare.
Donations to either the vfw.org or the garysinisefoundation.org in Ervin’s name are appreciated. Both organizations serve our brave defenders and veterans.
