Eugene A. Engnath died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 16th, 2019 at the age of 82. He was born in White Creek, Adams County, Wisconsin on November 9th, 1936 – the son of August and Elizabeth (nee Fenner) Engnath. He was a 1954 graduate of Waukesha High School and on June 29, 1957 he married Donna Snyder. During high school, he worked for Wern Farms. In 1956, he worked as a mechanic for Hill Top Garage in Genesee and at Glenrock Motors in Waukesha. Starting in 1966, he went to work as a warehouseman for Godfrey Company – Fleming Company – in Waukesha where he worked for 33 years until his retirement in 1998.
An avid hunter, Eugene enjoyed camping and spending time ‘up north’ playing cards with family and friends. His hobbies included word finds, repairing and painting cars, and woodworking. He enjoyed baseball especially watching his grandsons play over the years. The Green Bay Packers were his favorite. He liked watching tractor pulls and going to antique car shows with his 1967 Chevy truck.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Donna of Genesee, his children Debra (late Roman) Banaszak of Deltona, Florida, Tammy (Scott) Herrmann of Waukesha, James (Laura) Engnath of Cody, Wyoming, and Amy Smith of Waukesha.
He was the proud grandfather of Nichole Lambert of Burlington, Nathan (Stephanie) Engnath of Belgrade, Montana, Melissa (Michael) Kelliher of Dousman, Rebekah (Jim) Grotelueschen of Watertown, Jacob Herrmann of Wales, Amber, Autumn, and James Smith of Waukesha, Debra (David) Mahlum of Germantown, John Banaszak of Wisconsin, Tim (Maria) Restle of Bemiji, Minnesota, and Lindsay (Ty) Julander of Cody, Wyoming.
He was the proud great-grandfather of Teegan and Addilyn Engnath, Eliana Lambert, Amanda and Samantha Mahlum, Vivi, Garrett, and Bowen Restle.
He is further survived by his sister Donna Mae Shaw of Green Bay, brother Edwin (Kathy) Engnath of Baraboo, and his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 from 10:00 am until the 2:00 pm memorial service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Wales.
