Fay Marie Butterfield of Waukesha passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Angels Grace Hospice, at the age of 82. She was born in Milwaukee on July 21, 1938, the daughter of Howard and Hazel (nee Allan) Davis. She married William F. Butterfield on June 14, 1958, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2017. Fay was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy was to spend time with family. Although she was quiet and didn’t like to be the center of attention, she was always hosting and planning for holidays and get-togethers making sure everyone had a great time. She enjoyed cooking and crafting, much to the delight of others. Each year, Fay created hand-made ornaments for her family and closest friends. The ornaments were keepsakes especially to her grandchildren whose Christmas trees are sprinkled with these loving memories of her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved visiting with her and she was endearingly known as “Grandma Gummy Bear”.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Denise Butterfield, Rebecca (Vince) Cochran, Stephanie (Scott) Turk, and William “JR” (Johnna) Butterfield Jr. Grandchildren Jessica King, Meredith Cochran, Melissa Cochran, Danielle (Nick) Burkin, Scott Alan, Kristi Turk, Brandy Butterfield, Kayla (Kyle) Gavin, Bobby (Olivia) Butterfield, and Tommy Butterfield and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Diane Oplaewski and brother Charles “Chuck” Davis.
In keeping with her nature, services will be private.
