Florence B. Schaeffer

Florence B. Schaeffer, of Waukesha, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at age of 89. She was born in Leroy, WI on June 12, 1926 the daughter of Frank and Magdalena (Schraufnagel) Feucht. On June 12, 1948 she married John Schaeffer at St. Andrew’s Parish in Leroy and celebrated their 67th anniversary this year. They raised their children in Menomonee Falls and Waukesha.

Florence was a loyal servant of God in her words, works and offerings. Her heart felt dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary and First Friday all night vigils will never be forgotten. Florence was a member of St. Pius V Roman Catholic Church and sang in the choir, decorated the church with flowers and was a member of the Altar Rosary Association.

Florence’s talents were many of which she was self-taught seamstress of wedding dresses and priests vestments. She loved gardening, harvesting apples, pears and raspberries along with freezing and canning produce. Her secret recipe for fruit cakes were appreciated by family as well as national and international friends. Christmas was her favorite family gathering time tradition. Her tubs of cookies and Christmas Decorations with a house full of noise, love and laughter will be sorely missed.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ray and Carl, sister Rose Bremser and youngest son Carl. Florence is survived by her husband John and children, Gary (Debra), Gloria (Mac) McNamara, Dale (Terie), Mark, Carl (deceased) wife (Patricia), and Marla (Ron) Majors. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Funeral Requiem Mass will be held Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius V Roman Catholic Chapel, 425 Grand Avenue, Mukwonago, WI 53149. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Please meet at the cemetery.
