Floyd W. Loper Sr., of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at LifeCare Hospital at the age of 77 years. He was born in Milwaukee on May 9, 1936 the son of Edward and Mildred (nee Schneider) Loper. Floyd proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 29, 1956 he married Nancy Zickert; she preceded him in death on December 9, 1997. Floyd was a “master” glassier, and had many glass businesses throughout his lifetime; he knew glass and mirrors inside and out. He enjoyed working on cars, boats, campers and just about anything that could be restored to become good as new again. He was crafty at anything he put his mind to and if he did not know how to do it, he would figure it out ensuring he always got the job done. He certainly enjoyed his involvement with J.R.’S (On Hwy 100-Franklin). Everyday was full of new challenges and nothing was too challenging for Floyd. He loved dogs, especially his peekapoo “Rosie”. They were inseparable, and Rosie followed him wherever he went. He also loved to take adventurous road trips, and of course Rosie would be in the passenger side, waiting to see what surprises were ahead of them. Most of all Floyd enjoyed being with his family and valued the time they shared together. He was always a great provider plus much more!
He will be sadly missed by his children Deborah (the late John) Schultz of Waukesha, Linda Martin of Waukesha, Kathy (David) Garcia of Waukesha, Floyd W. (Ramona) Loper Jr. of Watertown and Patricia (Doug Mueller) Somann of Clyman, his grandchildren John (Rebecca) Schultz Jr., Kevin (Christine) Schultz, James (fiancée Claire) Schultz, Stephanie (Kenton Smith) Schultz, Patrick Hannon, Ricky (Hannah) Martin, Rebecca Martin, Marina and Allissa Garcia and Rachel and Matthew Loper and his four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Graham, Kylee and Cayden. He is further survived by his brothers, Edward (Margaret) Loper Jr., Donald (Katherine) Loper and James (Elaine) Loper, his sister Shirley (the late Edward) Eismann along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
