Frances M. Egan, age 102 of Waukesha, died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Linden Grove in Mukwonago where she was a resident for the past 7 years. She was born on February 25, 1905 in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of Patrick and Barbara (Veeser) Murphy. At the age of 16, Frances was the organist at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. At age 19, she attended the Chicago College of Music, and also played organ during intermissions at the Chicago Theatre and the Uptown Theatre in Chicago. Frances married George Egan on November 25, 1927 in Chicago, IL; he preceded her in death on January 2, 1998. She will be fondly remembered for being an outstanding musician and lifelong pianist and organist. Frances will be sadly missed by her son, George (June) Egan of Waukesha; her daughter, Nancy Tarr of Ohio; three grandchildren: Randy, Charles, and Mary; one great-grandchild, Katie; and her brother, Gerald E. (Lucille) Murphy of Neenah, WI. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, William Doughtery and sisters, Helen and Florence. A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church, 830 Hwy NN East, Mukwonago, WI. Fr. Frank Malloy will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM Mass at the church.
