Frances “Fran” Claudette Parson (nee Lewis) went home to the Lord the morning of Sunday, December 29, 2024, in Oconomowoc at the age of 90. She was born on April 2, 1934, in Waterloo, Iowa to parents Duane and Myrta (nee Brandt) Lewis. Fran and her husband John married December 3, 1955, and started their family together. Always wanting to travel when they were young, Fran and John became world travelers in their later years with millions of day trips in between. She had a great love for her family and spending time with them was important to her. Fran liked to keep social and had her breakfast and lunch groups to look forward to. She was a great card player, Euchre being one of her favorites, and she liked to win as evident as she went easy on nobody including the grandkids. She was a longtime resident of Waukesha, and a longtime active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, a community she loved to be with. Fran worked in the Waukesha School District as an administrative assistant for 30 years, retiring in the early 2000s. She was also a member of the VFW Post 721 Women’s Auxiliary group.
She is survived by her loving children Michael (Byung) Parson, Mark (Ellen) Parson, Chris Ann (Allan) Jackson and Annette (Rick) Castner; grandchildren, Rachel (Abram) Dooley, Eric Jackson, Sarah Parson, David Won, Ross (Miriah) Castner and their children Sloan, Selah, Jay, and Jax; and grandchild, Reanne (Blake) Covey and their child Maeve. Fran is preceded in death by her cherished husband of 49 years John Harold Parson who passed away on May 3, 2005, parents, and her eight brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and the Funeral Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Fran will be laid to rest Monday, January 6, 2025, at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 South Prairie Avenue, Waukesha at 11:00 a.m., please meet at the cemetery office drive.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at AngelsGrace for their phenomenal care and compassion provided in Fran’s last days. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to AngelsGrace Hospice or to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
