Frank A. Gabrysiak a lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the age of 97. He was born to Andrew and Margaret (nee: Krzizke) Gabrysiak on October 1, 1913. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Alaska where he was a mechanic and ambulance driver. While stationed in Alaska he was a member of the Army Alaska Hockey Team. On June 7, 1941 he married Frances A. Yatzeck at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Frank worked at International Harvester for over 45 years, retiring in 1976 and also worked part-time at RTE Corp. for over 15 years. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church for 44 years. Frank enjoyed hunting, bowling, gardening, fishing, including many Canadian fishing trips, extensive travel throughout the U.S and babysitting for his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his children: Anthony (Judie) Gabrysiak of New Berlin; Walter (Betty) Gabrysiak of Waukesha; Miriam (Tom) Haubrich of Prescott, AZ; five grandchildren: Marc (Wendy) Gabrysiak of New Berlin; Gregory (Susan) Gabrysiak of Waukesha; Scott (Stacy) Gabrysiak of Waukesha; Scott (Joann) Haubrich of Albuquerque, NM and Jason Haubrich of San Francisco. He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren: Sydney, Jorie, Bryce, Owen, Skylar, Calder, Dashiel and a brother-in-law, Harold Marose of Waukesha, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances A. Gabrysiak on October 23, 1999; his brothers and sisters: John, Sylvester, Stanley, Esther and Cecilia. Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb 14, 2011 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave. Waukesha from 5:00 PM until the 7:30 PM Funeral Service all at church. The Rev. Larry Gates will officiate. Graveside services will take place on Tuesday at Prairie Home Cemetery at 11 :00 AM. Please meet at the cemetery office. Memorials are appreciated to Trinity Ev.
