Frank Michael Madushaw of Pewaukee died on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the age of 96. He was born in Milwaukee on November 24, 1924 the son of Frank and Anna (Kropf) Madushaw. Frank graduated from Wauwatosa High School in June 1943. The next weekend he was on the train for basic training in the U.S. Army at Camp Haan, California. That included training in the Mojave Desert. After more combat training, he was sent overseas as a casualty replacement. In Hawaii he was involved in guarding Fort Bellows and Pearl Harbor. From there he was assigned to the Philippines in the automatic weapons battalion. He has two battle stars for fighting at Leyte on D Day and 2 battle stars for fighting in Okinawa. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Frank went on to work for the city of Wauwatosa for 32 years. On June 30, 1973, Frank married Ernabelle J. “Ernie” Andree, at Redeemer United Church of Christ in Sussex. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2017. After Ernie’s passing, Frank’s niece, Chris Griswold, took over being his caretaker. He is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother James Madushaw.
Burial with full military honors will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
