Fred John Rosenmerkel, lifelong Waukesha resident, died on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at LindenGrove at the age of 97. He was born in Waukesha on February 21, 1912 the son of Fred and Mary (nee Yeroshek) Rosenmerkel. Fred was a 1930 graduate of Waukesha High School. On May 15, 1937 he married Loretta Bates; she preceded him in death on October 1, 1978. He worked for Waukesha Motors for 39 years until his retirement in 1977 where he was then a member of the Waukesha Motors Old Timers. Fred enjoyed playing the piano and played with Les Paul and many other bands. He was a member of the Musicians Union and of the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ since his confirmation in 1946. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Nancy (Larry) Bain of Waukesha, his granddaughter Wendy Bain of Waukesha, nephew Fred (Linda) Yopps of Mequon, nieces: Sue (Al) Buyatt of Waukesha, Mary (Larry) Hale of Merton , and Sandie (Rich) Noll of New Berlin. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife Loretta, he was preceded in death by his companion and special friend Vivian Lipke in 2005, his brother Kenneth (Connie) Rosenmerkel, and sisters: Harriet (Robert) Yopps and Beulah (Jim) Pruett. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 12:00 Noon until the 2:00PM funeral service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. Rev. Ralph Schultz will preside. Entombment will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00AM at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery office. Flowers are appreciated.
