Gary G. Bahr of Wales passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 72. He was born in Racine on June 15, 1947 the son of William “Hans” and Virginia (nee Hendricks) Bahr. On September 15, 1979 he married Patricia “Pat” Boettcher at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church where they have been longtime members. Gary enjoyed swimming, loved butterflies and was known for his infamous thanksgiving mashed potatoes. He was a simple and quiet man who loved his family dearly.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Pat of Wales and their daughter, Jennifer Lynn Bahr of Wales, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sandy (Scott) Joers of Johnson Creek and nieces, Michelle (Mike) Newman of West Allis and Sarah Joers of Waukesha. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Deborah “Debi” Bahr and his father and mother-in-law, Harold and Cecelia Boettcher.
Private services for the immediate family will be held with Pastor Scott Oelhafen of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Additional services will be held at a later date when the community is safe to gather. Memorials in Gary’s name are appreciated to Trinity Ev.
