George C. Wax of Waukesha, died on Friday, November 9, 2007, at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 74. He was born on February 7, 1933, the son of Phyllis and James Wax. George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a graduate of the University of Houston and received a degree in engineering. He was a Project manager for Con Diesel until his retirement in 1993. He was a dedicated and respected employee receiving many accolades for his work. George loved the simple things in life. He loved being home, and he and his wife Betty did everything together. They were soul mates. He was the original Mr. Fix it and he was happiest puttering in his workshop or tending to his lawn and garden. He was a life long model train enthusiast and spent many hours creating elaborate layouts in the area beyond his workshop. He was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the library to collect information for his next project. He loved history and science and was a wealth of information to his family. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 17 years, Betty Haideman-Wax of Waukesha, His loving children, son Keith (Julie) Wax of Bethel , Connecticut, his daughter Karyn (Frank) Clesse of Orchard Park, New York and his step daughter Sue (Randy) Pallister and his step son Mark of Waukesha. He was the proud grandfather of Katherine, Sarah, Steven, Megan, Gregory, and Caroline Wax, Laura and Jennifer Clesse, and Daniel, Stephanie, and Michael Pallister. He was a great listener and loved to tell of their accomplishments. Distance separated him from his children, but they were forever in his heart and he was extremely proud of them. He is further survived by his sister Peggy (Dick) Hummel of New Canan, Connecticut as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis Wax and his first wife Aurelie. George's family gratefully acknowledges the outstanding and compassionate care of Dr. Frederico Sanchez and the staff of Oncology Alliance, Dr. Gerald Berman, Dr. Janis Kengis and the staff and volunteers at Angels Grace Hospice. George's journey ended at Angels Grace and the extraordinary care he and his family received will never be forgotten. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 7:30 pm at Randle- Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service, Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Wednesday, November 14 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
