George Horton Egan, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his home at age 87. He was born in Chicago, IL on October 11, 1928 the son of George and Frances (nee Murphy) Egan. He attended Carroll College and served in the United States Army. George was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary where he enjoyed serving as commodore of the 9th district. George gave generously of his time volunteering with many organizations throughout the community.
He will be sadly missed by his wife June (nee Krause) of Waukesha, his sister Nancy Tarr of Ohio, his nieces and nephews, Randy Tarr, Mary (Jack) Deas, Charlie Tarr, great-niece Katie (Allan) Pierron and a great-great-nephew Hudson Allan Pierron.
Also survived by nieces, Sherry Durkee and Marlene (the late Timothy) Krause, great-nieces and great nephews, Lorie (Dave) Riviere, Jay (Sara) Durkee, Tim (Kim) Krause and Mike Krause and his great-great-nieces and nephews, Leona, Emily, Tom, Tim, Felecia and Isabell. He is further survived by many cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. memorial service at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53188. Pastor Andy Fetters will preside. Private interment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.
