George E. Herbrand, lifelong Waukesha resident, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Waukesha Springs at the age of 83. He was born on September 28, 1928, in Milwaukee, the son of Edward and Edna (nee Halwas) Herbrand. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950 until 1952. On June 11, 1955 he married the former Norma Johnson at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Waukesha. For many years he was the owner of East Side Market and then worked for various wholesale meat distributors. He will be sadly missed by his wife Norma, of Waukesha, along with their children Jay (Laurie) Herbrand of CA, Jon (Virginia) Herbrand of Oconomowoc and Joel (Heidi) Herbrand of Waukesha. Dear grandfather of Michelle (Jared), Jason, Jacob, Abby and Hannah and great-grandfather of AnnaMarie, Gabriel and Noah. He is further survived by his brother Warren Herbrand of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his sister Audrey (Paul) Stier. Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 3 from 1:00 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Private family burial with military honors will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Christ the Servant Lutheran Church 2016 Center Rd. Waukesha 53189.
