George K. Pantelis of Waukesha, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at the age of 82. He was born on August 18, 1928 in Cicero, Illinois, the son of Konstantine and Bessie (nee Pappas) Pantelis. He was united in marriage to Helen Ann Rouman; she preceded him in death in 1995. George attended the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, earning a degree in education. He worked for Channel 12 for almost 40 years until retirement. Very active in the community, George served on the Waukesha City Council, holding the position of Alderman for 10 years, and was a longtime member and past vice-chairman of the Democratic Party for Waukesha County. George was also very involved with the Shriners for over 40 years, including the Masonic Order, Scottish Rite, Triple I Temple, Motor Corp, and the James Hayes Lodge. He served as president of the Waukesha County Shrine Club, Embassador General, and Arab Patrol. He also was a member of the AHEPEA, a Greek organization for men. He had a great love of Jazz music. George will be deeply missed by his children: Elizabeth Pantelis of Waukesha, Gus (Sue) Pantelis of Roseville, MN, and Dina (George) Smith of Georgia; and grandchildren: Terran, Victoria, Steven, and Roman Pantelis, and Devon, Ashley, and Andrew Smith. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with Trisagion at 6:00 PM, followed by a Masonic service. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, at 11:00 AM, at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2160 N. Wauwatosa Ave., Milwaukee, WI, with visitation from 10:30 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
