George R. Urban, of the Town of Lisbon, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at his home at the age of 77. He was born on September 7, 1932 in Milwaukee, the son of Wendell and Eva (Klopfer) Urban. At the age of 17, George entered the U.S. Army and served until 1953. That same year he went to work for Alloy Products as a machinist, and later helped to start the Alloy Credit Union. In 1968, George became a Union Business Representative for District #10 of IAMAW, and continued until retiring in 1995. He also was President of the Waukesha Labor Council until 2004. George spent many hours volunteering his time, which included serving on the board and finance committee for United Way and being a bell ringer for the Salvation Army for many years. After retiring he was able to enjoy his love of fishing and all types of hunting. George will be sadly missed by his wife, Kathleen G. Urban of the Town of Lisbon; children: Anna Marie (David) Miller of Waukesha, Georgina (Steven) Sexton of Waukesha, David R. (Trish St. George) Urban of Derry, New Hampshire; Lisa (David) Pierce of Waukesha, and Misty R. Jaeschke of Waukesha; step-children: Michael (Laurie) Vandenbush of Waukesha, Susan (Fernando) Escobedo of Waukesha, Carla Vandenbush of Genesee and Lynn Vandenbush of Milwaukee; grandchildren: Dan, Samantha, and Tim Miller, Connie (Ben) Herbstman, Tony and Mike Sexton, Bryan and Jake Pierce, Jordon and Ashley Jaeschke; step-grandchildren: Breanna and Emily Vandenbush, Nicholas and Anthony Escobedo, Alli, Taylor and Mariah Gean, and T.J., Jake and Caleb Golembiewski; great grandchildren, Grace and Memphis Miller and brother, Wendell (the late Trudy) Urban of Georgia. He was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Monday, September 21, 2009 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Dr., Hartland.
