Gerald J. “Jerry” Jarvis, of Waterford, formerly of Waukesha, found peace after a long courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Vitas Innovative Hospice in Wauwatosa at the age of 82. He was born in Waukesha on September 1, 1929 the son of Joseph and Grace (nee Woelfl) Jarvis. He proudly served in the United States Army. Jerry owned and operated S&J Distributing for many years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed boating. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He will always be remembered for his strong will and determination. He will be sadly missed by his children: Debbie (David) Jarvis-Hurst of Homewood, AL, Geri Ann (Joe) Whitstone of Brooklyn Park, MN, Dennis (fiancé Kelly Quandt) Jarvis of West Bend and Judy Jarvis of Milwaukee, his two grandchildren: Christopher (fiancé Renee Wetterhahn) Whitstone and Nicholas (Kelly) Whitstone and one great-granddaughter Allie Whitstone. He is further survived by his brother and sisters: Al (the late Patricia) Jarvis of Whitefish Bay, Mary Alice (the late Paul) Stone of Norfolk, VA and Bernadine (Donald) Marx of Waukesha along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Pat Bergmann and Delores Hutchinson, and brothers: Joseph and Daniel Jarvis. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 10:00AM until the 12:00 Noon funeral Mass at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Hospital Chapel, 5000 W National Avenue, Milwaukee. Father Norman Oswald will preside. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
