Gilbert “Gil” G. Bobholz of Waukesha passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home with his family by his side at the age of 86. Gil was born on June 25, 1930 in Milwaukee to George and Viola (nee Neitzel) Bobholz. On December 26, 1960, he married his loving wife Elaine Quasius; she preceded him in death on July 15, 2005. Gil was a carpenter and loved to build things. He loved animals, especially dogs and leaves behind his devoted 4-legged companion, Zoe. Most of all, Gil enjoyed spending time at his cabin on Squirrel Lake in Minocqua, WI where he fished, socialized and spent time with his beloved family.
He will be sadly missed by his five children, Chris (John) Flamand of Mukwonago, Peter Bobholz of Germantown, Ann (Dean) Thoma of Waukesha, Andrew (Julie) Bobholz of Green Bay, and John (Jeanette) Bobholz of Arkansas and his grandchildren, Emily, Jordan, and Kaitlyn Flamand and Sam and Max Bobholz. He is further survived by his brother Gerald (Jetta) Bobholz of Germantown, his brother-in-law Glenn (Elaine) Quasius along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife Elaine and his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother Gordon.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave, Waukesha. Reverend Lawrence Gates will preside. Entombment will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Please meet at the cemetery in the red parking area. Memorials in Gil’s name are appreciated to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.
