Gilbert W. Schmocker, of Green Bay, formerly of Yukon, OK and previously Oconomowoc, died on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the age of 84. He was born on June 30, 1930 in Waukesha the son of Arthur and Emily Schmocker. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Gilbert, often called “Gil” or “Gib” was a union carpenter and spent most of his years constructing residential dwellings and commercial buildings. When Gil was not listening to country music, dancing the night away, he enjoyed puttering around the house and bird watching. His family, especially grandchildren, enjoyed receiving his thoughtful hand written letters, covered with carefully chosen stickers. He loved updating every one of his activities and, of course, the local weather.
He will be sadly missed by his four sons, William “Bill” (Kristine) Schmocker of New Jersey, Scott (Beth) Schmocker of Ohio, Andrew (Kathy) Schmocker of Green Bay, Mike (Angie) Schmocker of Brookfield, his nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters Philip, Franklin, Janet Perkins and Ellis along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Joyce Lurvey and Arthur.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:30AM memorial service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186.
