Gordon M. Feather of Waukesha was born to Eternal Life on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home at the age of 86. He was born in Waukesha on July 28, 1930, the son of Russell and Angela (nee Bealhen) Feather. He was a graduate of Waukesha High School. Gordon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force serving in Japan during the Korean War. He went on to graduate from Florida State University with a degree in Meteorology. Gordon worked at Chicago O’Hare International Airport briefing pilots on the weather impacting their flight plans. He retired in 1986 and returned to Waukesha, living in the family home. Gordon was a longtime, active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an usher, counted the weekly collection and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He had a huge heart and was supportive and generous to a variety of charitable causes. Gordon was well-read, a great conversationalist and an avid Badger and Packer fan.
He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Sister Alice Feather, SSSF of Milwaukee, Beverly (David) O’Keefe of Midland, MI, Dale Feather of Waukesha and Sandra Elliott of Waukesha. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Father Javier Bustos will preside. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
