Harvard K Gjerdset passed away peacefully at his home on November 23, 2024 at the age of 82. Halvard was born on May 25, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI to Erling and Agnes (Wunrow) Gjerdset. On August 24, 1974 he married Rose Dascenzo. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2024. Hal was a proud member of the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling with Rose to many concerts and casinos. They spent nearly every weekend dancing and enjoying local bands with their many friends.
Hal is survived by his step-sons John Kading of Muskego and Michael Kading of Nekoosa, his daughter-in- law Julie (Daniel) Jones of Johnson Creek, his granddaughters Dana (Bryon) Millis of Palmyra, Danielle (David) Peterson of Almond, Sarah Kading of Little Falls, MN and his great -grandchildren Justinn (Haley), Katelyn and Samuel Millis, Adam and Jackson Peterson, Jaydon Kading, Lauren Gibson, and Zane and Aria Waaraniemi. Hal is further survived by his brother Jerry (Judy) Gjerdset, his nephew Craig Gjerdset, his nieces Linda Merkel and Kristin Gjerdset, and his sister-in-law Molly Dascenzo. Hal was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, his parents, his step-son Wesley Kading II, his sister Genevieve Christenson and his niece Debra Christenson.
Per Hal’s wishes, a small service will take place on January 11, 2025 with visitation from 1:00pm until the 2:30pm memorial service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A private military burial will take place at a later date.
