Harlan H. “Harley” Woyahn, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Congregational Home in Brookfield at the age of 85. He was born on January 2, 1923 in Waukesha, the son of Rev. Henry and Lillian (Wiese) Woyahn. Harley proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and was awarded the Silver Star. After working for the Miller Brewing Company as a sales executive for 25 years, he was co-owner and president of W.O.W. Distributing Company for 10 years. Harley was very involved in the community. As a charter member of the Waukesha Tennis Association, he was a prime mover in the development of the Woyahn Tennis Center. He was an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Harley will be sadly missed by his son: Lee (Kim) Woyahn of Waukesha, and their children: Jennifer, Kendra, and Michael; his daughter, Cathy Woyahn of New York; and brother, Burton (Jean) Woyahn of Waukesha. His is also survived by his special friend, Joanie of Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mona Schlosser, his parents, and former wife, Marcella (Erdman) Woyahn. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 4:00 PM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, with fellowship following the service. Rev. Arthur Koepsell will preside. Entombment will be held privately at Prairie Home Cemetery.
