Harold Charles Ernest Boettcher, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 91. He was born in the town of Genesee on May 4, 1921 the son of Otto and Erna (nee Zingler) Boettcher. On June 20, 1953 he married the former Cecelia Schick in Pewaukee. Harold worked on the family farm until 1963 when he went to work for Dairy Belt Feed & Seed Company. In 1975 Harold began working for the Waukesha School District as a custodian until his retirement in June of 1991. Along with his wife, Harold has been a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church since 1963. He was an avid gardener and always had a love for farming. Above all his greatest joy was spending time with his family and telling them “I love you, a bushel and a peck, a hug around the neck”.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Cecelia of Waukesha and their daughters: Patricia (Gary) Bahr of Wales and Sandy (Scott) Joers of Johnson Creek. He was the dear grandfather of Jennifer Bahr of Wales, Michelle Joers of Johnson Creek and Sarah Joers of Waukesha. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son David Allen Boettcher, his sisters: Margaret Spencer, Elsbeth Pett, Ruth Korte and Alice Boettcher, his brother Raymond Boettcher and his parents.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 3:00 until the 6:00PM funeral service at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend Lawrence Gates will preside. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 10:00AM at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery office.
