Harry Edward Rauworth, of Big Bend, died Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center at the age of 82. He was born in Dekalb, IL on November 30, 1941, the son of Herbert and Veronica (nee Bennett-Udakus) Rauworth. On September 5, 1964 he married Mary Ann (nee Mehring) Rauworth in Milwaukee. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964-1966. A devoted husband and a loving father, designed and built his own home in Big Bend. He was a 4-H leader, a weight and balance calculator for United Airlines and worked for GE for many years. He published papers on power and grounding and presented a paper to the National Board of Electrical Engineers. He held a professional electrical engineer license as well as HVAC and ham radio license.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Rauworth. Beloved father of Dawn Greenawald, Brian (Jill) Rauworth, Jeff (Theresa) Rauworth, Michael “Mike” Rauworth and Rebecca (Jarred) Gerl. Loving grandfather of Brittany (Tim) Breecher, Justin (Erin) Greenawald, Jessica Greenawald, Kirsten (Scott) Sagnes, Tyler (Ellie Joy) Johnson, Erica Rauworth, Tanishia Schulze, Nathan (Lauren) Schulze, Joseph (Kayla) Rauworth, Ajii “Timothy” Rauworth, Brycen Rauworth, Carley Rauworth, Christopher Rauworth, Elizabeth Rauworth, Matthew Rauworth, Elijah Gerl, Gabriel Gerl and Anastasia Gerl. Cherished great-grandfather of Grace, James and Connor Breecher, Robin and Nora Greenawald, Aria and Ava Sagnes, Carmen Johnson, Liam and River Schulze and Aiden, Myles and Avery Rauworth. He is further survived by his sister Florence Rauworth, brother Herb Rauworth, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Nell Ann Gron, brother-in-law Rudy Gron, sister-in-law Sharon Rauworth, niece Jerri Carel, nephew Corey Mehring and son-in-law Robb Greenawald.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, S89 W22650 Milwaukee Ave., Big Bend, WI 53103. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Delafield Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Schoenstatt Retreat Center, W284 N698 Cherry Ln., Waukesha, WI 53188 or charity of your choice.
