Harvey W. Herrmann of town of Brookfield died peacefully following a brief illness on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born on October 2, 1931 the son of Jacob and Anna (nee Boser) Herrmann. On October 7, 1978, he married Lorayne Bolton. Harvey worked for many years in sales at Sears. In retirement, he found great joy in being a school bus driver and was proud to work as a greeter at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home. He was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Waukesha where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and was past-president of the Holy Name Society at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Harvey was known for his dedication to the Genesee community, where he was a member of the town of Genesee Planning Commission, past-president of the Genesee Park Board, and very active with the Wales-Genesee Lions Club. He also served as the past-president of the Waukesha Toastmasters. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Harvey will always be remembered for his kindness and big heart.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Lorayne of town of Brookfield, his children, Georgiann (the late Jerry) Weidner of Waukesha, Jeffrey (Pat) Herrmann of Waukesha, Scott (Tammy) Herrmann of Waukesha and Denise Herrmann Atlanta, GA, his grandchildren Brandon (Mindi) Weidner, Emily (Dan) Wooldridge, Matt Herrmann, Jake Herrmann, and Melissa (Mike) Kelliher and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Vivienne. He is further survived by his brother Gerald (Isabelle) Herrmann of Genesee, sisters-in-law Barbara Herrmann and Barbara Herrmann, step-son Gary (Julie) Williams, step-son-in-law Michael Dalton, step-grandchild Dustin (Liz) Slane along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Reuben and Howard, and his step-daughter Dawn Dalton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Father Howard Haase will preside. Entombment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. A reception will then be held from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Wales-Genesee Lions Club, S42 W31400 Hwy 83, Genesee Depot, WI 53127. Memorials in Harvey’s name are appreciated to the Wales-Genesee Lions Club (address above) or to St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186.
