Of Waukesha, was welcomed home by her heavenly Father on Friday, October 24, 2008 at LindenGrove Health Care Center in Waukesha at the age of 90. She was born on March 11, 1918 the daughter of Carl and Laura (nee Ruenzel) Leberman. Hazel was a 1935 graduate of Waukesha High School and on August 3, 1940 she married Curry Hopf in Waukesha. She worked for Wisconsin Bell for many years until her retirement in 1979. Hazel was a lifelong member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She loved to read and enjoyed entertaining at her home. Hazel will be sadly missed by her husband Curry of Waukesha, her daughter-in-law Dorothy (Terry) Treuden of Sussex, her grandchildren: Stephanie (Greg) Lamas of Long Beach, CA, Angela Hopf of Milwaukee, Veronica (Ryan) Westcot of Milwaukee, Bret (Cici) Hopf of Brown Deer, her step-grandchildren: Daniel Treuden of South Milwaukee, Becky (Jonathan) Beckler of Muskego, Rachel (Lucas) Boehm, of South St. Paul, MN, Jesse (Jenny) Treuden of West Allis, Pete Treuden of Milwaukee and Jeremy Treuden of Sussex along with 12 great-grandchildren. Hazel is further survived by her sisters Ruth (Charles) Knoebel and Pearl Stearns both of Waukesha, nephews: Fr. Tom Knoebel of Franklin and John Knoebel of New York City, NY along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her son Rev. Jeff Hopf and siblings: Roy, Esther and Harriet. Visitation will be held on Friday October 31, 2008 from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM funeral service at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. The Reverend Art Koepsell will preside. Graveside services will be Saturday November 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
