Hazel M. Johnson

Hazel M. Johnson, formerly of Delafield, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Virginia Health & Rehab at the age of 89. She was born in the town of Genesee on May 10, 1928 the daughter of Thomas and Marietta (nee Williams) Jones. Growing up, Hazel enjoyed raising Clydesdale Draft Horses with her father. She was a 1946 graduate of Waukesha High School and in her earlier years worked for Wern Farms. On December 3, 1949 she married Norman Johnson. Together they owned and operated Johnson Pest Control for many years. Norman and Hazel enjoyed many years of square dancing.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 68 years, Norman, her daughter Roberta “Bobbie” (William) Beardsley and granddaughters Kristin (Aaron) Schoenherr and Allison (fiancé Tabor Baumli) Beardsley. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Doris (late Tony) Biever, Barbara (late Art) Hargrave and Helen Jones.

Over the years, Hazel greatly enjoyed numerous “backyard” picnics with her sister-in-law LaVerne (late Ray) Podjaski, her lifelong friend Wanda (late Wilbur) Schwartz, their families, and many wonderful relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Jerusalem Cemetery in Wales.
